内容简介

教授英语近10年,学习英语累计也有20余年,从时间长度看,我学习英语的经验远远丰富于教授英语的经验。所以尽管做教师已近10年了,学习英语的经验却还相当新鲜,对于学习英语的困难体会深切。我们学习英语,所接触的语言素材多以书面语为主,而现有的口语教材又多以情景对话为主,故而对各种交际场合常用的口语表达方式积累甚少,在与来自英语国家的人交往或是在英语国家生活、学习和工作时言语失礼、进退失度,甚至无法沟通的情况屡见不鲜。克服这些语言障碍,使用流利英语进行交流自然非一朝一夕之功可以达到目的,但是有一册罗列比较全面、使用方便的口语书,进行基本口语表达方式的语言储备,是达到熟练交流的第一步。这本书就是按照一般社会交际的基本需要,为读者提供一个基本会话表达语句的“语句库”。  
        本书按照常见的交际场合分类,尽可能全面地收集在这些场合常用的口语表达方式,集中展现同类场合的不同说法和表达方式,既有比较随意的表达方式,也兼顾比较正式的表达方式,给学习者提供了丰富的选择的内容。根据社会生活的发展变化,这本书特别补充了一些可能在其他同类书籍中较少涉及的一些内容,比如关于开车、去医院就医、租房等内容,尽量使读者能使用本书解决日常生活、学习和工作中出现的各种问题。当然,本书的内容无法涵盖社会生活所有方面,但是我们尽量从一个要使用英语在英语世界生存的读者的角度出发,使这本书尽可能包罗读者可能遇到的各种场景下要使用的语言素材。  
        我们知道,语言是文化的载体,要做到言语得体,进退有度,一定要对英语文化背景、习俗和口语表达习惯有所了解。所以我们在每一小节都对相关内容涉及的常识用小知识的方式进行了介绍,以图对读者更好地把握分寸,在适当的场合使用适当的语言,达到交流目的。
