内容简介
本书是《大学专业英语系列教材》中的经济类第三册。按照新教学大纲的要求，本书适合于目前在校的大学三年级学生，是较为理想的英语+专业知识的大学英语教材。
本书兼顾英语语言的学习应用和经济专业知识两个方面。学生在锻炼英语应用能力的同时，又可学到经济学方面的知识。
本书对学生的要求：达到或超过大学英语四级；不必事先具有经济学方面的知识。
本书对教师的要求：具有一定经济学知识的英语教师，或英语水平较高的经济类专业教师。
第三册主课文所涉及的内容包括了经济学方面的基础知识和基本概念。各单元内容分别为：消费者行为；国内生产总值；人力资源管理；经济增长；稳定经济；投资；国际金融；保险 ；经济全球化；新经济。其内容大多反映美国经济、社会方面的状况。
就内容而言，第三册在第一册和第二册的基础上，涉及面进一步拓宽，专业性进一步增强。 不仅包括宏观经济学和微观经济学的内容，而且涉及金融、投资、保险等领域，同时增加了 当今世界经济发展所涉及的热门话题，如经济全球化。
与第一册和第二册相比，第三册的语言难度增大，旨在使该套教材在语言学习方面形成一个 梯度，符合教学规律。第三册各主课文难度没有大的跳跃，前后较一致。
第三册各单元词汇部分增加经济学专业术语和准确的中文翻译。生词起点以教育部公布的《大学英语教学大纲通用词汇表》中的四级以上词汇为准。
主课文注释包括两个方面：英语语言点和经济学术语。
各单元练习的设计和编排旨在培养学生应用英语的能力，同时强化学生对专业术语和经济学 基本概念的掌握。教师在要求学生掌握基本经济学知识的同时，还应强调学生的口头交流能 力和笔头表达能力，尽可能在课上多给学生一些语言实践的机会。建议教师在课上引导学生 做好角色扮演、写作等练习，注意口头练习和笔头练习的结合、个人发言和小组讨论的结合 。
第三册各单元副课文增加为两篇，内容与主课文相关，难度与主课文相近。旨在增加学生的 阅读量，拓宽学生经济学专业的知识面。主要供学生自学，教师也可酌情选用。
根据学生的专业情况和英语水平，教师可对课文和练习内容进行灵活处理。
