  本书是教育部“高等教育面向21世纪教学内容和课程体系改革计划”的研究成果,是面向21世纪课程教材。本书以地理信息系统(GIS)实习为主线,重点讲述了GIS的数字化、空间数据结构、数据模型与数据库、空间分析、产品输出、GIS系统设计以及数字高程模型(DEM)、GIS与遥感、GIS应用模型和网络GIS等方面的原理、操作和编程。教材突出GIS算法编程和应用软件操作。其中,GIS应用软件的操作以目前流行的MapInfo、ARC/INFO和自行研制的GIS-TP教学实习软件为主要工具,算法编程方面则提供大量的C、VB和DELPHI源程序。教材充分体现了GIS实践性和操作性强的特点。 本书既可作为高等学校地理学、地理信息系统、资源环境与城乡规划管理、区域经济学、环境科学、房地产等专业本科生的教材,也可作为上述有关专业的硕士、博士研究生的教学参考书。同时也可供政府、企业相关部门的GIS研究和工作人员参考。
